- Email, call, and meet with Cambridge City Councillors asking them to prioritize safe bicycling, mass transportation infrastructure, and to express support for specific projects and policy orders. You can find their contact information here.
- Read the Cambridge Bicycle Plan: Toward a Bikeable Future and the Vision Zero Action Plan (not yet released — see Boston Vision Zero for an example). Let City Councillors and Staff know you support immediate action to realize these goals.
- Attend local community meetings about road construction projects in your neighborhood and speak up about the need to re-allocate road space to safe bike infrastructure. See our calendar for upcoming events.
- Participate in Envision Cambridge meetings and speak up about the need to re-allocate road space to safe bike infrastructure. There are currently openings on four working groups: Housing, Climate and Environment, Economy, and Mobility. Apply to become a member of a working group or simply meetings as a non-member. - Talk to friends and neighbors where street design questions are being debated about the need to re-allocate road space to safe bike infrastructure.
- When there are openings, apply to join the Cambridge Bicycle Committee. Details here.
- Meet with the City Manager and staff in the City Transportation Department and Community Development Department and learn what they are working on, what their strategies and priorities are, and how we can work together to improve street infrastructure. Schedule a meeting on your own or contact info@cambridgebikesafety.org to join meetings scheduled by Cambridge Bicycle Safety.
- Vote and campaign for City Council candidates who have signed on to the Cambridge Bicycle Safety platform.
