CAMBRIDGE BIKE SAFETY COMMUNITY RIDES

55+ Community Bike Rides in Cambridge & Somerville

Social group rides designed with riders 55+ in mind — and open to everyone.

Our July ride traveled from Harvard Square to Jamaica Plain along the Charles River and Emerald Necklace paths, followed by lunch at Casa Verde.

Ride with us

We organize relaxed community bike rides around Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, and nearby communities. The rides are especially intended to make it easy for people 55 and older to meet other riders and enjoy biking together.

We have been riding about once a month and would love to organize more rides as the group grows.

55+ is the focus, not a requirement. Riders of all ages are welcome to join us.

What our rides are like

These are social rides, not training rides. We choose routes and destinations that make it enjoyable to spend a few hours riding together.

Comfortable pace

We ride at a pace that allows the group to stay together rather than trying to cover ground quickly.

Lower-stress routes

When practical, rides use paths, protected bike lanes, and calmer streets rather than high-stress roads.

Interesting destinations

Past rides have included the Charles River, Emerald Necklace, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, and other destinations around Greater Boston.

Details before every ride

We share the planned distance, route, meeting location, and other useful information ahead of time so you can decide whether a ride works for you.

Help us organize more rides

We would like to ride more often. Join the list if you want to hear about upcoming rides, suggest a destination, or help plan or lead a future trip.
